Here, just for a moment.
Faces in the Lanes is a community portrait project created by Graphic Design students from North Metropolitan TAFE for the 2026 Boorloo Heritage Festival. The project celebrates the people who give Northbridge its unique energy — the workers, creatives and local characters who shape the precinct every day.
Through portrait photography, typography and visual storytelling, students have explored identity, place and community — capturing not just faces, but the stories and atmospheres that define Northbridge and its surrounds. While united by a shared theme, each piece reflects the student’s personal design approach, aesthetic choices and connection to their subject.
Together, these works form a collective snapshot of Northbridge life, viewed through many creative lenses. We invite you to explore the gallery and discover the individuality, care and curiosity behind each portrait.
